Il 1 Febbraio è l'ultimo giorno della merla, che nella tradizione popolare è l'ultimo dei 3 giorni più freddi dell'anno (30/31/1) e anche oggi i vecchi non sbagliano,tradizione confermata con una nevicata iniziata verso le 4 di questo mattino che continuerà per tutta la giornata, da domani le correnti sciroccali avranno il sopravvento trasformando la precipitazione nevose in pioggia.Comunque fiduciosi, sono convinto che questo mese ci riserverà delle belle sorprese!

Lacul este unicul de pe litoralul României care nu este alimentat subteran. Datorită gradului de salinitate ridicat s-a format un strat considerabil de nămol folosit la tratarea bolilor reumatice. În partea de nord a plajei se află epava Evangelia, fost vas grecesc eşuat în anii 1960.

For Immediate Release  NFL Media.com                                                        January 31, 2009 NFL HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2009 ANNOUNCED CANTON, OHIO – Wide receiver Bob Hayes, guard Randall McDaniel, defensive end Bruce Smith, linebacker Derrick Thomas, owner Ralph Wilson, and defensive back Rod Woodson make up the Class of 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinees.  The six-man class was elected by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee who met today in Tampa, Florida.  The newest members of the Hall were selected from a list of 17 finalists that had been determined earlier by the committee.  Hayes, a gold medalist track star in the 1964 Summer Olympics, combined his world class speed with great hands. “Bullet Bob,” a three-time All-Pro pick, caught 371 career passes for 7,414 yards and 71 touchdowns.  McDaniel was named All-Pro nine straight seasons and voted to a record 12 consecutive AFC-NFC Pro Bowls during his 14-season career with the Minnesota Vikings (1988-1999) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2000-01).  Smith, the first overall pick in the 1985 draft by the Buffalo Bills, is the NFL’s all-time sack leader with 200 career sacks. A member of both the NFL’s All-Decade Teams of the 1980s and 1990s, Smith was named first-team All-Pro nine times and voted to 11 Pro Bowls.  Thomas amassed more sacks during the 1990s than any other player.  He was selected to nine Pro Bowls, named All-NFL three times, and was All-AFC seven times in an eight-year stretch.  Wilson founded the Buffalo Bills in 1959 and has watched his team win back-to-back AFL titles in the mid-1960s and become the only team ever to advance to four consecutive Super Bowls. He was an integral part of the AFL’s success and has also served on a number of important NFL committees over the years.  Woodson, a member of the NFL’s 75th Anniversary Team in 1994 and selected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s, intercepted 71 passes which he returned for an NFL record 1,483 yards and a record 12 touchdowns. Novità in vista?

Dopo la pausa di riflessione che il freddo si è preso in queste settimane, qualche novità potrebbe affacciarsi nella seconda e terza decade del mese di febbraio con l'arrivo delle fredde correnti da est, ma quello che dovrebbe essere monitorato è la prossima eruzione del vulcano Mount Redoubt in Alaska. L'attività sismica continua ad intesificarsi ed i vulcanologi sono ormai convinti che l' eruzione sia imminente. Ricordo che nell'agosto 2008, circa un milione di tonnellate di ceneri e anidride solforosa invase la stratosfera, a causa dell'eruzione del vulcano Kasatochi che provocò fantastici tramonti ed influenzando le temperature dell'emisfero settentrionale.Gli effetti di queste eruzioni sono da valutarsi nel corso dei prossimi mesi, vedremo se quest'estate si manterrà in media o sotto media. This is a video of the meeting held Wednesday night and regarding the Urban Design plan for the proposed Bayview Hunter's point Lennar development which would include a stadium for the San Francisco 49ers.

The video captures the anger that community members had over the process, expressing a desire to see the committee just approve the plan and build the project, but making sure the site is cleaned up and jobs are provided for them,

Ya asoma el Frente asociado a una potente Borrasca, por el Oeste peninsular. Esta perfectamente definido y estructurado, y esta tarde se situará en torno al centro peninsular tras haber dejado abundantes precipitaciones en toda la fachada occidental de nuestro país. Este Frente va a ser el encargado de formar una pequeña Borrasca enfrente del Cabo de San Vicente (Portugal), que hará que el Tiempo sea inestable durante este fin de semana en casi toda España.

Ya adelanto que en el Sureste peninsular no se esperan abundantes precipitaciones. Estas podrían aparecer mañana Sábado por la tarde-noche de intensidad débil y de carácter disperso, mientras que el Domingo serían persistentes y también de intensidad débil, a lo sumo moderadas.

Evidentemente bajarán las temperaturas, tanto las máximas como las mínimas y el ambiente será fresco y húmedo. El Meteograma estima que pueden caer unos 12 litros por metro cuadrado durante todo el finde en Orihuela.

Jornada bastante cálida la que tuvimos ayer y la que estamos teniendo hoy. Orihuela estuvo cerca de alcanzar los 25,0ºC ayer. El siguiente mapa realizado por la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología nos indica, que el Sureste peninsular junto con zonas del litoral valenciano, van a ser las que mayor temperatura registren.

讚！超讚的！已經很久沒看到畫功與佈局皆一流的妖怪魔幻少年漫，這部作品沒紅真的很奇怪（通常一完結就更難引起注意了，所以會繼續不紅下去吧），可惜近來對這類作品越來越力不從心，只能用純欣賞的角度而非驚喜的心情去翻閱《元魔子》，倒是喜愛《厄夜怪客》的漫迷理當也會喜歡此套漫畫才是，建議不妨花點精神去市面上尋找它的蹤跡（目前會進原動力漫畫的書店還滿稀少）。

以陰陽師題材來說，《元魔子》的獨創性與質感都相當高，劇情背景設定於室町幕府時代，創作者將當時一手攬權的第三代將軍、足利義滿設定為主角之一，並以安倍晴明第十五代子孫土御門有盛做為另一重要角色（安倍家在室町時期改稱土御門家，是因其代代居住於土御門而得名，有盛則為虛構人物）；而在戰爭紛擾、禍國殃民、人心惶惶的年代，當這一端有其陰陽師、另一端則必然盤據著妖魔鬼怪，最終且最重要的角色便是大鬼、元魔子。而以上三者都不是什麼好東西，所以，基本上，《元魔子》又是一套鬼打架漫畫，只不過這回打得有夠兇的。

看到四分之一，腦袋裝了水泥的我才突然驚覺不太對勁，為什麼文中主角跟作者不同名呢？咦咦？啊，賽啦！它根本不是自傳回憶錄！是小說、虛構小說啦！囧rz

對《巴黎，賽啦》評價沒辦法太高的原因，在於它跟記憶中走馬看花的巴黎印象十分神似，嗯？這樣有什麼不對嗎？當然不對啊，作者在法國居住了十二年，而我也不過過境巴黎花都三天而已，為什麼我們兩人只有停留在時尚昂貴、洋溢著美食樂章、無時無刻不在的罷工潮、街上處處是狗屎、對美語不友善但對觀光客極友好如此共同卻膚淺的印象呢？

若要評起虛構劇情，關於保羅偉斯特被挖角至法國經營正統英國茶室風波不斷、艱險萬分的這一段歷程，只能說，嘖！太詭異了，我只看見保羅不斷跟法國女人週旋來週旋去的扮演情聖，說著笑不太出來的雙關語，而他真正應該做的工作卻只有蜻蜓點水般的輕輕帶過，劇情表面浮誇而不踏實。

但若論起作者虛中帶實的異鄉求生回憶錄，此部份算是相當成功，特別是關於不同人種的相處細節，書裡一針見血的評論，露骨且自嘲地道出了異鄉人的困惑與焦慮。

總之，僅僅是本輕鬆易讀的小說，如此而已。

Malaysian regulator approves 3 new foreign Islamic fund managers

The Securities Commission (SC) has given its approval for three new foreign Islamic fund management companies (IFMCs) to start operations in Malaysia. The three are Aberdeen Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd, BNP Paribas Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd and Nomura Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd, the regulator said in a statement on Jan 29, 2009.
It said the three companies already have a presence in the conventional asset management industry in Malaysia, as part of the five licences issued under a special scheme announced in 2005 to broaden the international participation in the Malaysian capital market.
Their interest to further expand their fund management business indicates their confidence in the Malaysian fund management industry, and reaffirms the growing interest among international players to make Malaysia the global hub for Islamic fund and wealth management activities, it added.
"Despite the global slowdown, the coming on board of these three international players reflects the strong growth potential in niche areas like Islamic fund management," said SC chairman Datuk Sri Zarinah Anwar. "This will help add depth and breadth to the Islamic finance industry, of which Malaysia commands a leadership role."
In granting the approval, the statement said the SC had considered, among other things, the scope of operations that will be established by the three Islamic fund management companies (IFMCs) in Malaysia, their fund management experience, brand value, expertise in various markets, geographical presence, and compliance and risk management capabilities.
The statement also provided comments from representatives of the newly approved players.
Atsushi Yoshikawa, president & CEO of Tokyo-based Nomura Asset Management Co Ltd commented: "Nomura Asset plans to position Islamic fund management as one of our most important strategies. With the establishment of Nomura Islamic Asset Management, we plan to provide a wide range of products and services to Asia and the Middle East regions".
BNP Paribas Investment Partners is firmly committed to further developing its existing Islamic investment capabilities, said Vincent Camerlynck, global head of business development and member of the executive committee, BNP Paribas Investment Partners in Paris.
"The domestic Islamic finance sector has been growing rapidly," said Aberdeen Asset Management Sdn Bhd managind director Gerald Ambrose.
The others who have been approved to establish operations are Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia), DBS Asset Management, CIMB-Principal Asset Management, Global Investment House and Reliance Asset Management, the SC said.

Bank Islam may end IT deal with Swiss firm

Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd is believed to be on the verge of terminating its core banking system contract entered into just over a year ago, potentially causing the bank to incur losses to the tune of millions of ringgit.
Sources say Bank Islam, the nation's first Islamic bank, has run into issues over the agreement signed with Swiss banking software maker Temenos Group AG in October 2007.
"The bank is facing some interpretation issues. If not resolved soon, it could derail its IT platform revamp," a source told The Malaysian Reserve.
A decision to change course now for its core banking system would have substantial financial implications for Bank Islam, with some industry executives familiar with such work estimating that the bank may end up forking out up to RM30 million.
However, a bank official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said any losses would be "much less" than RM30 million and would not breach the amount previously allocated for the bank's total IT revamp.
In March 2008, Bank Islam managing director Datuk Zukri Samat said the bank had allocated some RM100 million to revamp its IT system, including the bank's core banking system, which was due to be completed by 2010.
Bank Islam is 51%-owned by public-listed BIMB Holdings Bhd, which also controls Islamic insurer Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd.
When contacted, Bank Islam declined to provide figures on how much it had paid for the Temenos T24 system, or how much it is likely to fork out should it decide to rope in another vendor.
"Our IT infrastructure revamp programme is on track," Zukri said in an emailed statement.
In mid-2006, after two consecutive disastrous financial years — the bank reported a net loss of RM507.8 million for the financial year ended June 30, 2005, and a net loss of RM1.31 billion the following year — a new management team led by Zukri unveiled a five-pronged turnaround plan.
Once the revamp programme was set in motion, Bank Islam began looking at upgrading its IT infrastructure, a vital ingredient for a bank that is big in the retail segment.
In October 2007, Temenos announced that its system had been selected to replace Bank Islam's two in-house systems — a Silverlake core banking platform and an i-Flex Internet banking system — which the bank has operated over the last 10 years.
Meanwhile, the issue of replacing the core banking system was also raised by shareholders at the annual general meeting of the bank's parent BIMB on Dec 17. Among the key stakeholders are the Dubai Investment Group (DIG), a member of United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Dubai Holding, whic h emerged as one of Bank Islam's major shareholders following a recapitalisation exercise after the massive losses in 2005 and 2006.
"It had created a bit of an issue at the bank," said one banker familiar with the matter.
Among the questions raised were whether the bank had made the right call when it brought in the new platform and if it was financially prudent to switch to another platform at this juncture.
According to a media release by Temenos, the T24 is a functionally rich, scalable, integrated, modular banking system. It is understood that Bank Islam was Temenos' first major break for core banking system sales in Malaysia.
Silverlake, the industry rival that it replaced at Bank Islam, is said to have better knowledge of customisation to local needs as it counts a number of local Islamic financial banks as its customers, including Affin Islamic Bank Bhd and OCBC Al-Amin Bank Bhd.

Oggi, 28 gennaio, si celebra la giornata internazionale della tutela della privacy. Tuttora la poca conoscenza su come proteggere i propri dati online rappresenta un problema a livello globale.

Tra le diverse iniziative pianificate nel corso di questa giornata, saremo presenti al "data privacy day: increasing privacy awareness and trust" organizzato in collaborazione con l'Information Technology Association of America, dove affronteremo assieme ai diversi rappresentati di governo, americani ed europei, la questione della sensibilizzazione al tema della privacy. Questo evento fa parte di un processo di dialogo e confronto continuo che stiamo intrattenendo con legislatori e organi di regolamentazione, associazioni dei consumatori, industriali e responsabili privacy per proteggere le informazioni degli utenti online.

I nostri sforzi per accrescere la consapevolezza in materia di protezione dei dati personali, oltre alle azioni intraprese nella pubblica arena, si fondano su un dialogo diretto con i nostri utenti, all'insegna della trasparenza e della facoltà di scelta.
