Who will save the Raiders now that the silver is mottled with rust? Not Interim head coach Tom Cable. Not this mystery off-season hiring of an exec who will bring the Raiders back. “We’ll get back, the Raiders will be back” said Davis, who surely would be better off in a nursing home right now then at the Raiders offices. Al, please hang it up. You are hurting the poor Raiders fans, and the people of Brooklyn NY where you are from.
On September 23, T-Mobile announced the world's first Android-powered phone, the G1. The phone comes preloaded with Search, Maps, Gmail with Contacts, Calendar, Google Talk, and YouTube. The applications are easy to use, fully synchronized with the web, and work together in new and innovative ways, as explained in our first post in the blogseries: 'Google on Android'. Google's mission is "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." Android-powered phones are designed to support the second part of that mission -- universally accessible and useful -- by making Search an integrated, easy-to-use, and platform-wide feature.
We've integrated Search with applications in a variety of ways, in order to make it universally accessible. Every searchable application includes a Search menu option. Some applications (like Maps) support type-to-search. Just start typing, and Maps will automatically open the Search UI for you! Some applications (like Android Market) have Search buttons, while others have Search widgets (like the home screen). Finally, on the T-Mobile G1, there's even a dedicated Search key on bottom row of the keyboard. Just press it and start typing your query.
We've made Search easier to use by providing suggestions. As you type, the list of suggestions refines itself, and you'll immediately jump to that search with a simple touch. There are two types of suggestions on the T-Mobile G1. Google web searches use Google Suggest technology to offer relevant, up-to-date suggestions. Other applications, like YouTube or Gmail, suggest queries you've previously made so that it's easier to find and share results that you've found before. I've even used recent query suggestions to start a search without any typing at all.
Also, we've integrated search across the platform so that applications can even share search capabilities with each other. For example, as Marc noted in his blog post, the music player can use other apps, like the browser or YouTube, to search for artist info, more music, or even music videos.
Finally, we've made it easy for third party developers to incorporate search into their applications, too. We've provided an easy-to-use API, documentation, sample code, and everything else a developer needs to implement basic searchability -- with recent query suggestions -- in their apps. What's more exciting to me is that developers can improve upon search as well. Maybe someone will find and provide new sources of searchable knowledge, or serve "mind reading" suggestions, or display search results in a more informative and beautiful way? I can't wait to see what developers come up with!

Interest in the upcoming U.S. elections is at an all-time high, so it's important for people to know how to register to vote. We've updated m.google.com/elections with information for each state about voter registration, early voting, and state voter hotlines. On phones with full web browsers, like the iPhone, you can also get all state online resources including complete online registration forms. (Not on a mobile device now? Send this URL to your phone.)
Voter registration deadlines are right around the corner (the earliest are Alaska, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Washington, which require mailed-in registrations to be postmarked by October 4) so be sure to check your state's rules in time.

A quattro mesi dal grande successo dei temi d'artista, nuovi importanti nomi provenienti dal mondo della moda e dalla musica si sono aggiunti alla gallery che vi permette di personalizzare la vostra homepage di Google.
Ma non finisce qui...amanti della musica sarete felici di sapere che da oggi idoli come i Radiohead, i ChemicalBrothers e Bob Dylan potranno farvi compagnia nel corso della vostra giornata.

A partir de demà dijous, s’escolarà una massa freda pel Pirineu que originarà una davallada considerable de les temperatures divendres i ruixats a la meitat nord, concentrades especialment al Pirineu amb una cota de neu que podria baixar a la seca cara nord fins el s 1200 metres.
El desplom d’una bossa freda d’origen polar amb un centre de -30ºC entrarà pel Pirineu de forma activa amb una temperatura entorn els -26ºC a 5500 metres d’alçada portant un desplom de les temperatures i ruixats continuats en tot el Pirineu amb una cota de neu que baixaria fins els 1200 metres a la cara nord i els 1400 a la cara sud. Tanmateix, fora del Pirineu, a partir de dijous al vespre, es produirien ruixats de forma dispersa en altres punts de la meitat nord, que serien més importants en zones del nord-est de cara la matinada i tarda de divendres.
Els models indiquen que les precipitacions fora del Pirineu serien disperses i poc importants. No obstant, a partir de la matinada de divendres trobarem humitats elevades a 700hPa i 850hPa, amb la bossa d’aire fred en alçada que ens fa malfiar. Aquestes entrades d’aire fred pel nord, amb humitats elevades en capes mitges, originen un efecte rebuf en la zona del nord-est i en el litoral central i sud de la Costa Brava. Així doncs, fora del Pirineu on les precipitacions serien més continuades, esperaria l’aparició de ruixats a partir de la tarda de dijous per zona de l’Empordà i punt interiors del nord-est, que de cara a la matinada s’anirien desplaçant cap al sud, on apareixerien alguns ruixats importants i d’una certa intensitat enfront de la costa (entre Cap de Begur i Barcelonès) que podrien afectar punts del litoral. En general serien ruixats de curta durada però de forta intensitat, localment de forma tempestuosa. Aquests ruixats, podrien durar fins a mig matí.
A partir de la tarda i nit de divendres, els ruixats reapareixerien amb més importància en zones del nord-est, localment amb tempesta i algun gra de calamarsa. No obstant, no acumularien grans quantitats.
Així doncs, a Tossa s’espera un dijous variable amb creixement de nuvolades durant la tarda i nit, que de cara a la matinada i matí de divendres es podria produir algun ruixat de curta durada però d’una certa intensitat. Divendres, serà un dia fred, on la baixada de les temperatures es farà notar amb força i els ruixats amb possibilitat de tempesta podria afectar la població de forma més important de cara a últimes hores de divendres. A partir de dissabte, el temps es tornaria assolellat i les temperatures començaran a pujar tot i que a primeres hores de dissabte farà fred.
