Naiman sharga exchange sold fake Chinese Yuan
Several people who traveled to China filed complaints to the Police that the Yuan they bought from Naiman sharga exchange was fake. The people claimed that some 6000 Yuan that they bought before they went to China was revealed to be counterfeit. Now Chingeltei District Police Department has initiated an investigation into the case.
A noticeable increase in the seizure of counterfeit mainland banknotes in Mongolia this year has prompted police to warn the public to be aware of the risk of counterfeit notes.
Police are warning the public to register the serial number of banknotes in writing or recording it on their mobile phone or using the guaranteed bank or financial institute when exchanging large amounts of money. The Police said most of the forgeries were 100 Yuan bills. Yuan buyers often become victims of counterfeiting when they buy a bundle of Yuan from Naiman sharga and then get into trouble in China

15 years pass with no leads on former Ministers assassination
Mongolians still remember a black day when Zorig Sanjaasuren, one of the leaders of the 1990 democratic revolution in Mongolia, was brutally assassinated in 1998. On October 2nd family, friends and well-wishers today showed respect and put flowers on the Statue of the prominent leader of Mongolian democracy.
The mystery of the murder of the 36 year old prominent Mongolian politician who was in charge of the Infrastructure Ministry at that time is still unsolved even after 15 years has passed.
It was socially understood that the assassination was politically motivated but the case is almost forgotten amid speculation that there are political interests to cover up the murder. Now the case moves further away from the truth. The Central Intelligence Agency, Police and Prosecutor have separated task forces to work on the case but the case is now at a dead-end.
Numerous suspects like Damiran Enkhbat, Ard Batsukh, U.Baatarjav and U.Bold were questioned and every person whose given name is Bat or Oyun was investigated over the case.
The Prosecutor General of Mongolia D.Dorligjav promised on the first day of his term as Prosecutor General, after President Ts.Elbegdorj won his second term in office, to keep continuing to try to solve the mystery of the murder and will not stop until the case is solved.
The statement by Prosecutor General of Mongolia D.Dorligjav brought hopes to the victim`s family and the public. Unfortunately the Prosecutor General`s statement is the first and latest recent news on the murder case.

ATWATER VILLAGE GETS “BEEFED-UP” POLICE PRESENCE
Greetings to Atwater Village community members:
I just wanted to send out a community announcement regarding increase police presence as well as police perimeters in the Atwater Village communities. Northeast gang units have been conducting enforcement due to increase of gang activity in the area. The good news is that after several gang operations, multiple local gang members were taken into custody pending Firearm violations. I can not disclose details at this time due to the ongoing investigations.
I do want to remind folks that it is important that you keep your doors and windows locked at all times. As these gang members flee on foot they may attempted to enter through open windows and doors that are unlocked. I also want to caution folks that if you see police activity in your area involving the police helicopter “hovering” over various properties. When this happens, please stay inside your home, apartment or business.
We do hear your concerns! Thank you for being involved, remaining patient, and for staying informed in your neighborhood.

EVERYONE HATES GRAFFITI except the taggers and the gang members. Let’s do something about it!!!
CPAB in conjunction with the Community Relations Office (CRO) is working hard to bring a Graffiti Nuisance Abatement Pilot Program currently used in Orange County to the Northeast in an effort to eradicate graffiti and arrest the perpetrators.
