Daily Briefing, 6/6/2012

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

St. Lukes University Health Network made more money this year than last year.  In the Southern Lehigh School District, taxes will increase 1% after School Directors approved the 2012-2013 budget.

In state-wide news, Governor Corbett defended his decision to give Shell Oil a $1.7 billion tax break, over 25 years, to bring a cracker plant to Western Pennsylvania.  Pennsylvania casino revenue increased 3.4% over the same time last year, with the Sands showing the largest growth.

In national news, Wisconsin's Governor Scott Walker has survived a recall attempt, defeating Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett 53-46.  Senator Casey and Congressman Dent are trying, once again, to ban bath salts.  A new survey shows that North Dakota's economy grew faster than any other state's last year.
