A steady stream of 9-1-1 calls reported the blaze, beginning at 7:51 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2012, as a large column of smoke arose from the one-story 60' x 150' building at 15748 Arminta Street in North Hills.
Los Angeles Firefighters arrived quickly to find fire through the roof of One on One Trading, an overstock merchandising firm that shared a common wall with other businesses.
Skilfully forcing entry through rolling steel doors into the non-fire sprinklered structure, fire crews encountered an inferno that had consumed much of the wholesale merchandise in the building before burning through the lightweight roof above.
A bold and well coordinated offense by more than sixty Los Angeles Fire Department personnel, held flames within the business of fire origin. The blaze was extinguished in just 24 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
Loss from the fire is still being tabulated, while the cause of the dusk-hour blaze remains under active investigation.
