Dear Editor:
As everyone in the area is aware, there was a burning UFO (Unidcntified Flaming Object), or more precisely a fiery wind turbine, lighting up the sky of the former Colbome Township on the night of April 2. The project manager for Kl Wind took time from his busy schedule that day to speak to the ACW Council on Tuesday and let them know what shook down, so to speak. Apparently that was quite a lot since he reported the debris field extended up to 200 metres, maybe further, out from the turbine.
Read more »He relayed to the Council that he had driven around the neighbourhood in the dead of night looking for smoke, with the window rolled down in the cold weather, and sniffing to determine if he could smell the lingering smoky scent of smoldering turbine. As he was not able to see or smell smoke, residents were never notified and the fire department was sent home. He also offered the thought that the worst part of the day had been dealing with the intrusive mcdie. One might have thought that the worst part of the day was having one of your safe, reliable turbines burn to a crisp and spread debris and toxic smoke around the neighbourhood but that’s just a personal observation.
