Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece spoke and voted in favour of the bill, called the Ensuring Affordable Energy Act, introduced by Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson.
“Passing this bill is an opportunity to do the right thing after so many years of this government doing the wrong thing,” said Pettapiece during the debate on April 18. “Make no mistake: This government’s policy, beginning with the Green Energy Act, has left destruction in its wake. It has left divided communities, unaffordable power, shuttered manufacturing plants, lost jobs and special deals for wind energy companies, all to no environmental benefit.
