In Lehigh County, reassessment notices are officially in the mail. In the 132nd Legislative District, Mike Schlossberg is the only candidate for State Representative after his opponent, Aryeh Spero, withdrew (full disclosure - as previously noted - that's me). Lehigh Valley International Airport received a $1.5 million state grant to upgrade its infrastructure. The Bethlehem Area School District is hoping to raise taxes above the state cap.
In statewide news, Governor Corbett signed into law legislation designed to enhance gas pipeline safety.
In national news, the Maryland Senate approved of legislation that legalized gay marriage yesterday; the bill now goes to Governor O'Malley for his likely signature. The USPS is looking to consolidate mail centers, a move that could eliminate 35,000 jobs.
