Marie Delgado
(July 12, 1922 – December 17, 2010)
The daughter of Carlos and Bernardina Delgado, Marie was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She came to Los Angeles in 1929, her father was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad and the family settled in company-owned housing in Atwater Village until Carlos built the family home on Chevy Chase Drive, where Marie lived for the rest of her life.
Along with two brothers, Jesse and Joseph, Marie graduated from John Marshall High School. She worked as a secretary for the L.A. County Marshall’s Office and upon her retirement became secretary to Cristo Rey Catholic Church in North Atwater Village.
Marie was a long-time, valued member and Board Member of the Atwater Village Residents Association. She will be missed by her many friends.
