The Chamber hosted the Lehigh Valley Energy & Environment Conference & Summit on Friday at the Mack Truck Customer Center. The event was well attended and there were various discussions detailing how businesses can go green to save money. The featured speaker was Patrick Collignon, Senior Vice President, Americas Cab & Vehicle Assembly Volvo Group Trucks Operation, who spoke on "Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Waste Reduction." In local news, the owner of the former Dixie Cup plant in Wilson is seeking KOZ approval to transform the property into apartments and office space in the next few years. Easton Mayor Sal Panto has unveiled a 2013 proposal that increases spending 8% without any raises in resident's property taxes.
