Regional Electricity Planning

The Ontario Power Authority (OPA) and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) have been asked by the Ontario Minister of Energy to provide recommendations for a new integrated regional energy planning process, specifically looking at improving the way large energy projects are sited in the province.
These recommendations will be used by the provincial government to establish a stakeholder engagement process to support the development of future regional energy plans and site new energy infrastructure.
On this website, Ontarians have an opportunity to make their views known on this important issue.
