At the invitation by Prime Minister of Mongolia, Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa is making an official visit to Mongolia from October 31 to November 1st, 2013.
The visit by the Deputy President of Republic of South Africais the first state visit to Mongolia since diplomatic relations established between Mongolia and the Republic of South Africain 1994.
During the visit, Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, KgalemaPetrusMotlantheand Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Altankhuyag held official talks. Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag emphasized current diplomatic rank between Mongolia and the Republic of South Africa,discussed myriad of topics including promotional events celebrating the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries which will be organized in 2014, supports for cooperation of stare owned or private enterprises of the two countries, cooperation on mining, energy, sport, tourism and environment sectors,ease reciprocal visa requirements for the travelers of the both countries, and research on coal to liquid fuels technology Mongolia`s willingness to support the framework of bilateral cooperation. Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, KgalemaPetrusMotlantheand Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Altankhuyag exchanged opinions onopening Embassies in each of the countriesand agreed to work it out in the near future. Then, Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, KgalemaPetrusMotlanthe met Deputy speaker R.Gonchigdorjto discuss intensifying cooperation between legislatives and secretariats arms of their governments and share thoughts on workings of parliament in the two countries. The parties emphasized the importance of intergovernmental relations to strength bilateral relations between Mongolia and the Republic of South Africa.
