Nicolas Cage’s $276,000 dinosaur skull may have been stolen
In 2007, Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage reportedly bought a skull of a dinosaur at an auction for $276,000 outbidding ‘The Great Gatsby’ star Leonardo Dicaprio.
Now English media reports reveal the prehistoric purchase may have been smuggled. The auction house in Beverly Hills from where the skull was bought reportedly belonged to Eric Prokopi, who pleaded guilty last year to illegally import fossils from Mongolia.
Prokopi is serving a 17-year prison sentence after reportedly selling a huge skeleton of a dinosaur T-bataar for $1 million.
The reports further reveal the ‘Con Air’ star, who has a history of extravagant purchases, also bought three homes, 22 cars, including nine Rolls-Royces in the same year.
Now US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division will reportedly investigate if the fossil won by Cage is among the items smuggled by Prokopi.Any source
