Daily Briefing, 3/9/2012

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

International Battery, the company that opened in the Valley in 2008, has closed without warning.  Ryan Mackenzie has been named the Republican nominee for State Representative in the upcoming special election for the 134th Legislative District.  Gerald Zahorchik, former Allentown School District Superintendent, has taken back his old job as the Superintendent of the Johnstown School District.  A WFMZ story looks at the serious problems facing the City of Allentown as a result of agreement's with the fire department.

In national/international news, two measures that would have sped up the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline both failed in the Senate yesterday.  In Greece, creditors have agreed to a bond swap deal.
