The governing board of the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council (AVNC) elected a new Co-Chair at the May 10th meeting, by an 8 to 5 vote the board elected Bruce Fleenor.
Fleenor filled the Co-Chair position that vacated last month when Leonora Gershman-Pitts quit before the end of her current term. AVNC's other Co-Chair, Robert "Fixer" Smith, continues to serve in that capacity.
AVNC bylaws entrust the board’s leadership into two co-equal positions, Co-Chairs, instead of the more traditional President / Vice-President format. Co-Chairs have control over meeting agendas and share leadership responsibilities.
