The governing board of Atwater’s neighborhood council (AVNC) will elect a new Co-Chair at their upcoming meeting. That leadership position was vacated last month when Leonora Gershman-Pitts quit before the end of her current term. AVNC's other Co-Chair, Robert "Fixer" Smith, continues to serve in that capacity.
AVNC bylaws entrust the board’s leadership into two co-equal positions, Co-Chairs, instead of the more traditional President / Vice-President format. Co-Chairs have control over meeting agenda and share leadership responsibilities.
