Portfolio Returns @ Marketocracy

This started off as a challenge for me to try and beat the S&P and Nasdaq indices over the longer term. Hence the turnover will be muted and its precisely the out performance or alpha that I am looking for. This portfolio is not a cashed up or timing portfolio. To qualify for the ratings and rankings, all portfolios must be at least 80% fully invested at any time, which is difficult during time of crisis.

The fund was started back in late 2008 following the crisis, and the 5 years since has been decent. The fund has outperformed S&P 500 by 25% since inception. Last 5 years it was even better, outperforming by 53%. Last 12 months  by 22%. So, active management is possible to outperform the index. Of course some may say its far and few in between. Actually its a minority but they are not so rare as to just give up and buy indexed funds.
