Among the mind numbing tedium that is welsh politics we occasionally see a small ray of light poking through to remind those of us like me who have given up on welsh politics knowing it will forever be a Labour play thing, that our stilted and atrophied democracy is capable of functioning properly and can hold people to account.
Now we are far from that stage, but the Crown Prosecution Service’s announcement late this afternoon that there is enough evidence to charge Naz Malik the former All Wales Ethnic Minority Association Chief Executive with theft and fraud is welcome for a variety of reasons.
A court date is yet to be set and there is no guarantee Naz Malik will be found guilty.
However we can hope that Malik's arrest may make his Labour Minister friends who will never have to account for their ongoing and multiple failings over this farce feeling a little less entitled, smug and self satisfied this evening.
