This highlights the utter stupidity of the Liberals’ power policy.
Had they sited the Missisauga gas plant at the Lakeview location, (a) you likely would have had electricity this week and (b) the Mississauga plant would not have been situated close to a residential area. So (c) we would have saved the $275 million it cost to scrap the Mississauga plant, according to former auditor general Jim McCarter.
What do we get instead? Rolling blackouts and a massive deficit.
Liberals have wasted so much money not building generation in or near Sousa’s riding, I suspect “Mississauga” is a native Canadian word meaning “place where your tax dollars go to die.”

The west end of Toronto needs more power. The Liberals have spent almost $600 million to cancel two gas plants there — and move that generation out of the GTA. One new plant will go to eastern Ontario, the other to Lambton County, near Sarnia — where they don’t need it.
That will require a lot of new transmission.
So, no, I will not turn down my a/c to keep the west-end in juice.
You don’t to want power plants?
Then it’s lights out for you.
