Z.ENKHBOLD MEETS SPEAKER OF SOUTH KOREA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of parliament Z.Enkhbold Monday received a visiting delegation led by Mr Kang Chang-hee, the Speaker of the National Assembly (parliament) of the Republic of Korea.

Mr Enkhbold expressed a satisfaction with widening of the bilateral relations at a comprehensive partnership level, and hoped that the visit of his counterpart will significantly contribute to strengthening the relations and cooperation.

It is of importance to increase the bilateral trade and investments and to expand the cooperation in roads, transportation, mining, health and other spheres, he said. "Mongolia wants to take investments from the Republic of Korea for the railway sector and to collaborate in introducing a railway technology and in preparing railway experts and professionals in the South Korean schools," he said and suggested that the S.Korean side activates the cooperation in the environment and green development policy.

In turn, Mr Kang emphasized that the bilateral relations, including the inter-parliamentary ties, have been widening, and hoped that the Speaker of the State Great Khural will focus on expansion of the inter-parliamentary relations.

"Mongolia has become the fifth biggest partner for the Republic of Korea in terms of economic and foreign trade partnerships. Mongolia is rich in mineral resources, which means that its development and future are bright, and our 30-40-year experience might contribute to them," Mr Kang emphasized.

He also mentioned that the biggest South Korean entities have launched business here, and thanked Mongolian parliament for willingness to adopt a new investment law "that will be friendly to foreign companies".

Mr Enkhbold proposed that S.Korea develops a youth-targeted cooperation, expands a programme on the youth exchange, and collaborates in broadening the Social Welfare Service Center which ensures social guarantee for the S.Korea-based Mongolians.
