A very special thanks go to Tree Lighting Committee; Dana Schwartz, Leonora Pitts, Sandra Caravella and Luis Lopez. Thank you for your dedication and hard work! The Chamber would also like to thank our all our sponsors, volunteers and participants; thank you for being so supportive of this great Atwater Village tradition.
We would also like to give special recognition to Council President Eric Garcetti and the CD13 staff, in particular Arsen Melikyan, for providing their indispensable assistance in getting our 80 foot red wood tree decorated. We could not have done it without you.

ATWATER VILLAGE, 100 YEARS OLD!
This year Atwater Village will celebrate 100 years of existence. In February 1910 an ordinance passed that authorized the annexation of Atwater Village to the incorporated city of Los Angeles. By 1912 Harriet Atwater Paramore began selling parcels for residential development and named it “Atwater Park”; shortly there after the entire area would be referred to as just “Atwater”. In 1987 area residents lobbied City officials to add the word “Village” to Atwater. This was approved and the area’s name official became “Atwater Village”.
The Chamber is very excited about Atwater’s centennial and will hold a special event to commemorate our 100 year anniversary. More information about this event coming soon.
