DEMI LOVATO RECIEVES GOAT AS BIRTHDAY GIFT

Demi Lovato's 21st birthday on Tuesday, August 20 turned out to be "the best birthday" of her "entire life," which she spent in Kenya in Africa while on a trip to do some charity work for Toronto-based international youth organization Free the Children. Aside from a memorable celebration among the locals, she even got a most unusual gift of a farmyard goat, which was actually a traditional gift in Africa, from one of the Maasai communities where she volunteered.

"Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!! Having the best birthday ever in Africa with freethechildren!!!" the "Heart Attack" singer tweeted along with a photo of herself doing some manual labor that went towards building a new school in the area. "Absolutely incredible. I'm so in love with Kenya. I'm so sad I'm leaving....," she wrote before revealing that she had named her new pet goat "Billy".

Instead of celebrating her 21st birthday with family and friends, Lovato decided to go on the "life-changing" trip because she had wanted something "memorable and meaningful" for her milestone birthday. She has been working with Free the Children for a year now through which she was able to get first-hand exposure to "the wonderful work that is being done as a result of all the incredible efforts of young people around the nation."
