The nominees for this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards have been announced. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 14 nominations in categories that include Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Track of the Year, Hustler of the Year and MVP of the Year.

Lamar's "Don't Kill My Vibe" is competing against A$AP Rocky's "F**kin' Problems", B.o.B's "We Still in This", J. Cole's "Power Trip" and Drake's "Started From the Bottom" for the Best Hip-Hop Video. The same song by the 26-year-old artist is also up for Track of the Year Award.

"It's a privilege to be a part of it," said Lamar following the announcement. "For the most part, BET always acknowledges my talent and I always hold that as an honor, so I'm blessed."

Canadian rapper Drake is the second big nominee as he earns 13 nominations. He's nominated alongside Lamar in Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year categories. J. Cole comes in behind Drake with 10 nods.

Rap legend Snoop Dogg is set to host the event. "I'm excited to be hosting this year's BET Hip Hop Awards 2013," said Snoop. "We're going to have fun this year and I will make it a show to remember, ya dig?! I'll be giving a ton of surprises, showcasing my exclusive GGN News clips and bringing all my nieces and nephews to the stage for an exciting night of hip-hop."

This year's BET Hip-Hop Awards will be taped at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on September 28. In addition to be premiered on October 15, the show will be aired on October 18 via BET's international network in the U.K. and Africa.
