Daily Briefing, 8/1/2012

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In national news, despite a slowing economy, consumer confidence rose for the first time in five months.  The keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention will be the Mayor of San Antonio, Julian Castro.  The U.S. Postal service is on the verge of defaulting on a $5.5 billion bill on its health care for retirees.

We have one Chamber event today, and its a fun one: our annual Amore Winery Mixer.
