Daily Briefing, 2/28/2012

Good morning everyone!  Here is today's Daily Briefing.

In Bethlehem, City Council has again deadlocked on its vote to replace its Controller, likely sending the matter to Northampton County Court of Common Pleas.  The Express-Times has named Jim Deegan as its new editor, replacing Joe Owens.  In Lehigh County, property reassessment letters are now arriving.

In state-wide news, Senator Jake Corman, Republican Chair of the Appropriations Committee, has said that he opposes Governor Corbett's proposed cuts to higher education.

In national news, Arizona and Michigan cast their votes today for the Republican nominee for President; Mitt Romney is expected to win Arizona easily, but the Michigan primary will likely be very close.  In world-wide news, S&P has again downgraded Greece's credit.

We have one Chamber event today: A luncheon by the Women's Business Council on supercharging your Social Media.
