The DNC

As you likely know, the Republican National Convention was held last week.  Polls show Mitt Romney likely received a small bounce from the convention; now, it's the Democrats turn.

The DNC kicks off today in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Interestingly, though you wouldn't notice it, the RNC was originally not supposed to be four days - it was supposed to be three, but was shortened as a result of Hurricane Issac (eerily reminiscent of Hurricane Gustav that forced a shortened RNC in 2008).  The DNC, however, was always supposed to be a three day affair.

Regardless - here's a look at the speakers schedule for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at the DNC:

  • Tuesday & Wednesday:  Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Former President Jimmy Carter (video video), Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee (I), Keynote by San Antonio Mayor Julian  Castro, Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist (I),  Former President Bill Clinton, Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, Sandra Fluke, Congressman Barney Frank, U.S. Senators Dick Durbin, Patty Murray, Senators Barbara Mikulski (MD), Dick Durbin (IL), Charles Schumer (NY), Governors Martin O'Malley (MD), Patty Murray (WA), Brian Schweitzer (MT), Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi,
