Adam’s back for now

I was talking with a friend a few days ago about the state of the campaign in Wales and one of the things that struck me was she said Plaid Cymru’s campaign was suffering because Adam Price doesn't seem to have any profile, I said he’s probably been canvassing locally and preparing for his studies in America, but the more I thought about it the more she made sense.

The leaders debates are dominating the UK and Welsh media and so far Plaid Cymru’s only contribution is constant complaining, whether they like it or not they are not going to be included the debates however justified their grievances, (I have written about it here) they need to find a new narrative something even BBC Wales Political Editor Betsan Powys and Welsh Affairs Editor Vaughan Roderick agreed on am.pm this week and Adam Price is someone who can do that.

Last night he was back and in just a short clip on the main ITV news and an appearance on ITV Wales Sharp End his gravitas and presence made the arguments that others in Plaid Cymru have been using for a while on the unfairness of their exclusion stick and successfully challenged the other parties over it.

Now I know that Adam isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, even within Plaid Cymru but his stepping down leaves big shoes to fill and not just for Jonathan Edwards in Carmarthenshire, I hadn’t realised just how big until now, it will be interesting to see how Plaid Cymru cope with his loss after he leaves for America.Any source
